The Four KLA-Tencor Foundation Programs

The KLA-Tencor Foundation and KLA-Tencor employees support community initiatives worldwide through four programs: cash grants, in-kind donations, volunteer time and matching gifts. Programs vary locally and globally.

I. Grant Program

KLA-Tencor Foundation grant giving invests in creative ideas that support the development of a new era of business leaders--in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors--increasing workplace diversity, access to quality education, and enriching our local communities worldwide. The KLA-Tencor Foundation strives to positively impact people’s lives while encouraging others to take action. The KLA-Tencor Foundation funds strategic grants in locations where we have significant employee populations. Requests are accepted by invitation only. The KLA-Tencor Foundation Committee establishes target organizations for grants and sends a Request for Consideration packet to these organizations. All inquiries regarding the grant program should be emailed to foundation@kla-tencor.com

Grant Guidelines

In general, organizations and projects should be located in communities where KLA-Tencor employees live, work and/or do business. Each organization is limited to one contribution per year, except in unusual circumstances. New requests will be evaluated equally with previously funded organizations; previous contributions will not be construed as a precedent for additional support. Applicant organizations should have active, diverse boards with effective leadership, continuity and efficiency of administration. Organizations that are supported or operated by religious organizations may be considered if their services are offered to the general public. Proposals will be accepted throughout the year; however, funding is limited for those contributions that are not included in our annual budget. Requestors will be contacted once a decision has been made.

IV. Matching Gift Program

The KLA-Tencor Foundation matching gift program was established to encourage good citizenship on the part of KLA-Tencor employees through support of charitable, cultural and civic programs that benefit their local communities. Participating organizations must be 501(c)(3) tax exempt and have been approved by the KLA-Tencor Foundation's Board of Directors or KLA-Tencor Foundation Committee. The KLA-Tencor Foundation will make a matching contribution of up to $500 per KLA-Tencor employee donation per calendar year. The KLA-Tencor Foundation may also respond to regional and global disaster relief efforts by matching funds for employee donations to organizations providing relief services to affected areas.
